Shane John Jr from the island nation Sri Lanka, found his musical roots in church playing the drums at an early age of 7. His journey started off being influenced by gospel music and today his music style has evolved with the influence of bands such as Dave Matthews Band, TOTO, Snarky Puppy and Dirty Loops. He draws musical inspiration from solo drummers such as Simon Phillips, Benny Greb and Robert Sput.
Today he counts over 12 years of experience in the music industry across multiple genres of Pop, Gospel, Soul and R&B. He has accompanied popular artists such as Jason Heerah from Australia and local artists such as Umaria, Bathiya and Santhush, Soundarie David, Voice Print and many more. He has performed with the Colombo Symphony Orchestra and has toured around the world as a drummer to countries such as China, Russia, Dubai and Australia.
Music is something that he values the most in life. Music is life and it keeps him alive. In his eyes music is an innocent living entity, that is truly amazing and simply no words to explain how mind blowing it is.
He cherishes every note that he plays and hears. He gives it his all every time he engages with music, like there is no tomorrow. To him music feels like a small part of heaven where even sinners are welcomed. Music is something that he needs and longs for every minute he is alive.
